The essay provides the second and final part of the large review dedicated to italian secular clergy whose first part was printed on the same scientific journal in 2019. The evolution of studies in this branch is observed by merging the most complete bibliographical information and the main tendences of a historiographic phenomenon which gained own total independency from other fields of the religious history in the last decades.
