The paper analyzes the evolution of forms of power in Somalia between the 19th and 20th centuries, deepening the features of Somali society and the role played by Islamization processes. The events that invest Somalia between the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century are marked by dervishism far more than the development of Sultanism. Il lavoro analizza l’evoluzione delle forme di potere in Somalia tra il XIX e XX secolo, approfondendo i caratteri della società somala e il ruolo giocato dai processi di islamizzazione. Le vicende che investono la Somalia tra la fine del XIX e l’inizio del XX secolo sono segnate dal derviscismo molto più che dallo sviluppo del sultanismo.
