RICOSTITUZIONE SULLA BASE DEI DATI CARTOGRAFICI DEI PAESAGGI SUBCARPATICI TRA L’OLT E IL TOPOLOG (ROMANIA) NEI SECOLI XVIII-XX, CON SPECIALE RIGUARDO AL PAESAGGIO VITICOLO RECONSTITUTION BY CARTOGRAPHIC DATA OF THE SUBCARPATHIAN LANDSCAPES BETWEEN THE OLT AND THE TOPOLOG RIVER (ROMANIA) IN THE 18TH-20TH CENTURIES, WITH SPECIAL REGARD ON THE VITICULTURAL LANDSCAPE

Abbiamo identificato i vecchi paesaggi e le loro trasformazioni nello spazio subcarpatico ubicato tra i fiumi Topolog e Olt, un territorio che ha subito un intenso processo di antropizzazione, applicando la cartografia retrospettiva tramite la cartografi a tradizionale, con l’aiuto delle carte a grande scala, stampate tra il Settecento ed il Novecento. La foresta è stata il più dinamico elemento del paesaggio. La Carta di Specht è stata la prima carta a grande scala che ha rappresentato la ripartizione dei vigneti. Anche i documenti storici confermano la presenza dei vigneti. Le carte ulteriori sono una testimonianza del continuo decremento dell’area occupata dal paesaggio viticolo, una realtà sostenuta anche dai dati statistici. Le carte storiche sono importanti documenti toponimici che ci hanno fornito, tramite i nomi locali, preziose informazioni sul paesaggio del passato. We have identified the old landscapes and their transformation, in the Subcarpathian space between the Topolog and the Olt Rivers, a territory which suffered an intense process of anthropization, by applying the retrospective cartography (through the traditional cartography), making use of the large scale maps of the 18th-20th centuries. Forest was the most dynamic element of the landscape. Specht’s Map was the first large scale map that depicted the vineyards distribution. Historical documents confirm the vineyards existence as well. Later maps are an evidence of the diminished space occupied by the viticulture landscape, as sustained by the scientific data as well. The old maps are important toponymical documents which supplied us, through toponyms, precious information on the old landscapes.
