Discussion of the following aspects of nominal compounding in Latin: the problem of the basic units which form the compound; the typology of compounds and the concept of "possible compound"; the position of the "head" of the compound; endocentric and exocentric formations; inflection and derivation within compounds; morpho-phonological adjustment rules; the distinction between compounds and phrases.
