Il riscaldamento climatico rappresenta un tema di rilevanza crescente nel dibattito pubblico nazionale ed internazionale. Il settore dei trasporti gioca un ruolo rilevante nella produzione dei gas ad effetto serra. Il trasporto aereo, in particolare, presenta tassi di crescita allarmanti dovuti anche alla crescente offerta delle compagnie “low cost” ed all’aumento della domanda espressa dai mercati emergenti. Il lavoro illustra i costi sociali del cambiamento climatico e le soluzioni proposte dalla teoria economica per mitigarne l’impatto con un focus particolare sul settore avionico. The global warming debate is growing both nationally and internationally. The transport sector plays an important role in the production of greenhouse gases. Air transport, in particular, is characterized by alarming growth rates due to the growing supply of low-cost airlines and the increased demand of emerging markets. The paper illustrates the social costs of climate change and the solutions proposed by the economic theory to mitigate its impacts with a particular focus on the avionics sector.
