Il tema principale di quest’articolo è la traduzione ed il prestito del termine spagnolo pícaro nel "Landstörtzer Gusman von Alfarche" di Ægidius Albertinus (Monaco 1615). Il "Landstörtzer" è il primo romanzo picaresco a essere stampato in terra tedesca e come esso l’iniziatore di un nuovo genere. Mentre nel titolo Albertinus sceglie il termine “Landstörtzer”, che possiede il significato di “vagabondo”, per tradurre lo spagnolo “Picaro”, vediamo che nel testo stesso utilizza diverse forme per glossare la voce spagnola; molto frequenti sono “Bärenhäuter” e “Lotterbube”, ma vengono usati anche “Bettler” e “Schwarack”. In sintesi si può quindi affermare che nell’introdurre il forestierismo “pícaro”, Albertinus si muove con estrema cautela. Per illustrare quanto detto, vengono messi a confronto passaggi tratti dal testo originale spagnolo con le corrispondenti traduzioni di Albertinus. The main theme of this article is the translation and the loan of the Spanish term ‘pícaro’ in the
"Landstörtzer Gusman von Alfarche" by Ægidius Albertinus (Munich 1615). "Landstörtzer" is the first picaresque novel to be printed in German territory, and, as such, the initiator of a new genre. While in the title Albertinus chooses the term ‘Landstörtzer’ (‘vagabond’), in order to translate the Spanish ‘pícaro’, we can see that in the text itself, the author uses different forms to gloss the Spanish term; ‘Bärenhäuter’ and ‘Lotterbube’ are often used, but also ‘Bettler’ and ‘Schwarack’ are frequently present. Concluding, it can be said that while introducing the foreign-derived word ‘picaro’, Albertinus moves with extreme caution. In order to illustrate this, passages taken from the original Spanish text are compared to the corresponding translations by Albertinus.
