Può la cartografia digitale sintetizzare sentimenti, idee, valori progetti territoriali? Questa
domanda guida la riflessione presente in questo contributo che focalizza l’attenzione
su uno strumento: il GeoBlog a supporto dei processi partecipativi. Dalla ricognizione
delle buone pratiche presenti sul territorio nazionale si zoomerà su un caso di studio
promosso in collaborazione con la Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. Le esperienze dimostrano
che il collegamento tra reale e virtuale sono la prerogativa essenziale per la riuscita
dei progetti e il potere performativo della carta contribuisce a mantenere viva la
tensione. Il problema si apre circa la legittimità di questo mezzo e la propensione politica
nel cogliere le suggestioni che emergono in Rete, ambiente caratterizzato da una
forte disparità di accesso ma, al tempo stesso, struttura in grado di porsi come amplificare
di voci spesso poco rappresentate. Can digital cartography synthesize feelings, ideas, values, and territorial projects?
This question guides our reflection, which focuses the attention on a specific tool:
the GeoBlog as a support to participatory processes. Starting from the recognition of
the good practices on the national territory, we are going to zoom on a case study
which was promoted in collaboration with the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. The
experiences show that the link between reality and the virtual world is essential for
the success of the projects and that the performative power of the map contributes
to keep this tension alive. The first issue to deal with concerns the legitimacy of this
tool and the political propensity for seizing the suggestions emerging on the Net,
which is an environment characterized by a strong disparity of access but, at the
same time, proves to be a structure suitable to amplify voices which are often hardly
represented.
