This article focuses on the anatomo-functional correlates of multilingual competence,
on its acquisition and potential benefits on cognitive and social development.
Moreover, in case of acquired brain injury or inadequate cerebral, cognitive
or intellectual maturation, this contribution will deal with the issue of linguistic
assessment and rehabilitation in multilingual patients.
