Sir John Harington and the Poetics of Tudor Translation

The article follows the process whereby Harington turned Ariosto's Furioso into a poem suitable for his godmother, Queen Elizabeth, by making it not a chivalric epic so much as a courtly poem, full of moral explanations and allegorical meanings.
