We conducted a multicentre analysis encompassing four Brazilian admixed populations from different regions of Brazil. A total of 740 patients with RA, diagnosed according to the ACR, and 676 controls from the cities of Porto Alegre (South), Bele ́m (North), Recife (Northeast) and Ribeira ̃ o Preto (Southeast) were PCR genotyped for the CCR5Delta32 polymorphism.
