The essay presents a not-well-known painting by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller (1793-1865) already owned by Giovanni Guglielmo Sartorio (1789-1871) and then confluenced in the collections of the Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg in Gorizia. Waldmüller’s participation in exhibitions organized in Trieste in the 1840s is also explored.
