Abstract
Two cases of non-palpable testicular lesions localized by means of intraoperative sonography are described. M.S. a 28-year-old infertile patient underwent testicular sonography during a check-up and a small image at the level of the right testis, was found. Even if no mass was palpable it was decided to operate and an intraoperative sonography revealed the precise localization and the small mass was excised and examined at once. Histologic study confirmed the presence of tumoural tissue and orchiectomy was performed. D.C. 27-year-old bilaterally cryptorchid patient had already been operated twice but no testicular structure was encountered in the inguinal channels. Neither preoperative sonography nor CT revealed the presence of testes. Upon abdominal exploration both testes were localized in the iliac region. Intraoperative sonography led to the localization of a right testicular tumour and right orchiectomy was performed.
