This chapter explores how the three jurisdictions under examination – Mainland China, Macau and Hong Kong – define breach and determine its effects, dealing in particular with the admissibility of specific performance and with the conditions under which a contract can be terminated by breach. As we will see, alongside some commonalities, the approaches adopted in the three systems of the Greater Bay Area differ on many issues.
