The essays collected in the monographic issue are inspired by the changes and developments in global environment history and range across themes and contexts that are very far apart: from Africa to Japan, from the United States to Italy, to which two essays are dedicated.
The protagonists are institutions, scientists, non-governmental organizations, political decision makers, the scenario is that of the post-World War II period and especially the decades since the Seventies.
