Nel contributo si proporrà un percorso ideale dal passato al presente, che dalla figura del
matematico Felix Klein porterà all’attuale teoria della matematica embodied elaborata dallo
scienziato cognitivo Rafael Núñez (insieme al linguista George Lakoff). Si mostrerà come
un’analisi condotta in una prospettiva storica si riveli importante per una migliore
comprensione del presente della didattica della matematica, per aiutare a guardare con occhi
più attenti all’interazione dinamica fra teorie e modelli diversi che caratterizza lo stato
attuale della disciplina e a capire soprattutto in quali direzioni può essere utile orientarne la
ricerca futura.! In this contribution an ideal path from the past to the present will be proposed, which will start from the figure of the mathematician Felix Klein up to the current theory of embodied mathematics developed by the cognitive scientist Rafael Núñez (working together with the linguist George Lakoff). It will be shown how an analysis carried out from a historical perspective is of importance for a better understanding of the present of mathematics education, for helping to look with more attention at the dynamic interaction between various theories and models, which characterizes the current state of the discipline, and above all to understand in which way to direct future research.
