In this contribution we consider the initiatives undertaken in the area of "Electronic Justice" by the European Union, addressing the following issues: (1) definition of "Electronic Justice", following the development process within the Council of Europe and subsequently the European Union, (2) overview on projects under development, (3) conception of law implicit in the "Electronic Justice". In conclusion, the "Electronic Justice" is not founded on the existence of a substantial and transcendent vision of "justice", but in light of a rationalistic vision of it.
