Abstract
Social capital is usually seen as an individual’s pool of resources embedded in personal network. Recent results have shown that friendship relationships, beyond the relations within individuals’ family, are an important source of social capital since they affect individuals’ well–being. Here, we use data from the Multipurpose survey “Aspects of daily life” collected by the Italian National Statistical Institute in 2012 to analyze the role of friendship ties in life satisfaction.
