Abstract
In 1522 Michele Tramezino, who would go on to become an extremely successful publisher in Venice, was in Rome, working as an apprentice in the Scoto publishers' branch bookshop there. From Rome he sent a letter to Giovanni Bartolomeo Gabiano in Venice in which he proposes opening a new bookshop in the papal city. The text of this letter is published in the article
