Premium Power Parks (PPP) are one of the possible answers to the need for high quality power supply of several (mainly industrial) sensitive users. A few pilot plants based on Custom Power devices have been realized until today, but their cost and complexity are so high that they did not meet with success. However, the quality of power supply can be improved also resorting to less complex solutions. Aiming to look for practical PPP solutions, this paper compares the performances of different PPPs by calculating the annual number of Production Process Halts (PPH) due to Power Quality (PQ) disturbances and the related cost. The results point out the efficacy of a relatively simple solution.
