Participation rural appraisal: un metodo per esplicitare le preferenze dei gruppi locali di interesse verso le politiche di sviluppo rurale multifunzionale nella regione Friuli Venezia Giulia

Structural changes and the RuralPolicies are emerging topics of the UE Agriculture. This paper is dedicateci to examine the "Participation rural appraisal" a method dedicated to reveal the preferences of local group of interest for the multifunctional rural policies. The empirical analysis has demonstrated that the PRA is able to consistently reveal thè preferences of locai groups of interests if the following conditiom are observed: i) selection of a range of objectives related to the welfare of the local community ; ii) definition of group in terms of dimension and diversìfication to represent the set of relevant interest of the local community; iii) capacity ofthe group to capture the perceptions about local problems and attitude to solve them; iv) Group leader able to drive the discussion toward specific objectives using laddering techniques; v) statistica! instrument (ranking, cluster and factor analysis to order the set of preferences versus the objectives ofthe rural development policies.
