Abstract
Gender-based violence (GBV) constitutes a significant contemporary challenge for organisations, given its multifaceted nature and widespread impact on women’ personal and professional spheres. By adopting a systematic literature review methodology, the paper aims at offering an overview of measures, initiatives and policies addressing GBV and implemented by organisations. Five main clusters of measures against GBV are detected, addressing training programs, internal corporate support measures, external public policies and bodies, the role of civil society organisations and communication. Therefore, we propose a two-by-two interpretive framework including a space (internal/external to the organisation) and a time dimensions (preventive/responsive), which could serve academic and practical efforts. We intend to contribute to current literature on GBV by enriching the theoretical background with insights from organisational behaviour and management theories. The paper also provides practitioners with a set of measures against GBV within organisations, adaptable and implementable to different contexts.
