Negli ultimi anni sono state pubblicate numerose ricerche sulla conservazione e il restauro del patrimonio artistico nel Friuli Venezia Giulia. Lo studio di tali argomenti ha comportato una particolare attenzione agli aspetti storici, in quanto tra la metà del XIX secolo e il 1918 questo territorio appartenne all’Impero asburgico e al Regno d’Italia: diversi sistemi di tutela, tra i più avanzati in Europa, si confrontarono dalla Zentral Kommission di Vienna alla legislazione italiana. Molte le indagini archivistiche e le analisi della documentazione esistente negli uffici della Soprintendenza che sono state analizzate e interpretate. Nella comunicazione si ricorderanno i lavori portati a termine e i nuovi indirizzi di approfondimento e di metodo del tema. The history of the conservation of cultural property in borderlands: considerations and prospects
Over the last few years, numerous studies have been published on the conservation and restoration
of artistic heritage in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Studying these subjects has meant focussing on the
historical aspects since between the mid-19th century and 1918 this land belonged to the Habsburg
Empire and the Kingdom of Italy: different systems of support, some of the most advanced in
Europe, were in power alternatively, from the Zentral Kommission of Vienna to the Italian
legislation. There has been much archival research and analysis of the documentation existing at the
Archaeological Heritage Offices which was analysed and interpreted. This presentation reports the
work completed and the new in-depth analysis and methodology.
