Bond Solution for a RC Element with Concrete in Tension

Abstract
The analytical solution to the problem of a bar subjected to a pull-out force and the surrounding concrete in tension for a monomial exponential local bond relationship is reported. A new monomial exponential local bond stress-slip relationship is proposed for the case of a bar pulled-out from a RC element in tension. The proposed local bond law is derived on the basis of experimental results available in literature. The application of the analytical solution utilizing the proposed bond law to experimental results show very large improvement in prediction accuracy of maximum slip of anchorages with respect to the use of CEB bond stress-slip law.
