Abstract
In recent years, there are more and more diagnosed cases of autism among school children, young people, and adults. Living environments, both private, public, and even educational are most often inadequate to accommodate this “neurodiversity”. The SENSHome research project (Interreg VA Italy-Austria) was an opportunity to explore how the environment can support independent living and autonomy for people on the autism spectrum by defining a series of technology-integrated furnishings for home spaces. The text presents the project’s results and proposes a reflection on how the objects and technological tools developed in the project can be implemented and used in other living environments such as schools.
