Starting with the case of Pirata! (Cult Movie) (Paolo Ciaffi Ricagno, 1984) the essay aims at pursuing a reflection on the impact of the Punk and Post-Punk scene in the Italian cultural landscape of the Eighties. Together with a few titles of the same time, the film elaborates a dystopian tale which introduces imagery, aesthetics and sounds tied to the youth subcultures.
During these years we attend the gradual failure of the traditional forms of identity construction, in an age of change in social landmarks, which appoints its own expression in a subversion of the clothing and of the symbolic items, outside the models of family and
politics that have crossed the previous ages.
