In the last years the autobiographical approach has become very popular in education. This approach is used in different context: jobs, schools, social education (Knowels, 1996; Formenti, 1998). From its applications it emerged that autobiography is a very effective tool in formation and research (Demetrio, 1995; Poropat, Chicco, Amione, 2003). The work taht is presented has used autobiography in this perspective of formation/research. The experience presented, in wich some preschool teachers were included, demonstred that autobiography is a very useful tool for teachers to dwell on their own work and to activate those consciousness-raising processes strongly liked to the person and professional growth. After the conduction of the research it has been possible to affirm that autobiography is a useful mean of teacher's professional development
