Abstract
Iniziativa antincendio per ecosistemi resilienti e strategie per una competenza avanzata in materia di incendi: Rete per le tecniche di emergenza
The FIRESAFENET Project addresses the challenges of the cross-border area between Italy and Slovenia regarding fire risks, one of the most common consequences of climate change that we have regularly faced in recent years. One of the challenges hindering effective and coordinated action during cross-border emergencies is the varying preparedness and equipment of rescue units, as well as different regulations and jurisdictions in neighbouring countries. The project aims to contribute to improving the capacity for climate change adaptation and risk reduction by establishing a cross-border system for efficient fire prevention, early detection, and management. By upgrading existing systems, training rescue services, and raising awareness among local communities, the project will enhance the cross-border area's resilience to natural disasters. The project outcomes will include improved action plans, new digital solutions, and strengthened cross-border collaboration among competent services. The main objective of the project is to contribute to risk management and mitigation of the impacts of fires in the cross-border area of Italy and Slovenia through innovative solutions and measures, strengthening the preparedness of rescue units, and implementing innovative preventive measures that will enhance the population's resilience to emergencies.
