CrossbOrder Network for ChildrEn RheumaTolOgy

Le malattie pediatriche rare immuno-mediate nell'Area del Programma possono avere differenti strategie diagnostiche e terapeutiche. Diversi approcci terapeutici e diversi strumenti diagnostici sono stati utilizzati dai due principali ospedali pediatrici dell'Area del Programma. Grazie a CATTEDRA “CollAborazione TransfronTaliEra per Diagnosi innovative di patologie Rare in pediatriA”, finanziato dal 4° bando del Programma INTERREG VA Italia-Slovenia 2014-2020, è stata costituita una rete di ospedali, centri di ricerca e PMI che ha affrontato il tema nell'Area Programma armonizzando gli approcci clinici e le strategie terapeutiche dei due centri clinici nonché lo sviluppo di studi di fattibilità di nuovi test diagnostici. Il progetto CONCERTO “CrossbOrder Network for ChildrEn RheumaTolOgy” mira a valorizzare, trasferire e divulgare alcuni deliverable prodotti dal progetto CATTEDRA. In particolare, CONCERTO intende sviluppare ulteriormente il database costruito congiuntamente di pazienti affetti da malattie rare immuno-mediate che colpiscono i bambini nell'area del programma. Per affrontare al meglio i problemi, la partnership vuole migliorare lo studio di fattibilità di un nuovo innovativo test diagnostico del DNA basato sul Next Generation Sequencing e sviluppare saggi sierologici cercando di chiarire il ruolo delle diverse vie infiammatorie tra i pazienti arruolati nel progetto. In particolare insieme con la tecnica NGS verrà testato un biosensore sull'attività chinasica per confermare l'analisi proveniente dall'analisi NGS. Importante sarà anche la divulgazione ai principali stakeholders dell'Area del Programma. Il risultato atteso di CONCERTO è quello di migliorare la cooperazione transfrontaliera degli attori chiave nel diagnostico e terapeutico delle malattie rare dei bambini, capitalizzando non solo CATTEDRA risultati ma anche consolidando la sua partnership.

Rare immune mediated paediatric diseases in the Programme Area may have different diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. Different treatment approaches and different diagnostic tools were used by the two main paediatric hospital of the Programme Area. Thanks to CATTEDRA “CollAborazione TransfronTaliEra per Diagnosi innovative di patologie Rare in pediatriA” project, financed by the 4th call of the Programme INTERREG VA Italy-Slovenia 2014-2020, a network of hospital, research centres and SMEs was established and tackled this issue in the Programme Area by harmonising the clinical approaches and the treatment strategies of the two clinical centres as well as developing feasibility studies of new diagnostics test. The project CONCERTO “CrossbOrder Network for ChildrEn RheumaTolOgy” aims to enhance, transfer and divulgate some deliverables produced by project CATTEDRA. In particular, CONCERTO intends to further develop the jointly constructed database of patients that are suffering from rare immune mediated diseases that affects children in the Programme Area. To better tackle the issues, the partnership wants to improve the feasibility study of a new innovative diagnostic test DNA based on Next Generation Sequencing and developing serological assays trying to clarify the role of different inflammatory pathways among the patients enrolled in the project. In particular together with the NGS technique a biosensor on kinase activity in order to confirm the analysis coming from NGS analysis will be tested. Important will be also the divulgation to the key stakeholders of the Programme Area. The expected result of CONCERTO is to improve the cross-border cooperation of key actors in the diagnostic and therapeutic of rare diseases of children, by capitalizing not only CATTEDRA deliverables but also by consolidating its partnership.
