Paolo Quazzolo is graduated in history of theatre and PhD in Italian Studies. He is Associated Professor of History of the Theatre at Trieste University. He studies the 19th and 20th century theatre, the Director, the relationship between theatre and mass society, the theatrical productions of the last fifty years. His publications include: Il Teatro Stabile del Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Quarant’anni di storia attraverso i repertori (The Friuli Venezia Giulia’s Theatre. Forty years of History Through his Repertoires - Trieste, 1995), Vent’anni di Contrada (The History of Contrada Theatre - Trieste, 1996), Aldo De Benedetti e il teatro brillante del Novecento (Aldo De Benedetti and the Comc Theatre in Twentieth-century - Trieste, 1997), Il teatro della poesia. Francesco Macedonio, regie e spettacoli (The Theatre of Poetry. A Biography of the Director Francesco Macedonio - Trieste, 1999), Delitti in palcoscenico. La commedia poliziesca italiana dal 1927 al 1954 (Murders on Stage. The Italian Detective Comedy from 1927 to 1954 - Udine, 2000), Il teatro. Guida all’arte teatrale (The Theatre. Introduction to the dramatic arts - Bari, 2002). He has publishes the Goldoni’s tragedy Rosmonda for National Edition of Carlo Goldoni’s works (Venezia, Marsilio, 2009), and Mèmoires. Sceneggiature per l’originale televisivo sulla vita di Carlo Goldoni (Mèmoires. Television screenplays on the life of Carlo Goldoni – Venezia, Marsilio, 2013), La drammaturgia biblica italiana dal X al XVI secolo (The Italian Biblical Dramaturgy from 10th to 16th Century - Brescia, Morcelliana, 2013); Conoscere il teatro. Strumenti per l’analisi dello spettacolo – Venezia, Marsilio, 2014 (Studiyng the Theatre. Instruments for the analysis of the show).
